Our Research

The public awareness of captive animal welfare and the use of exotic animals in animal interaction programs is growing around the world.

Formal scientific research is needed to evaluate if animal interaction programs provide a societal benefit for human participants and determine what the welfare impacts are for the animals participating in them.

To investigate this, AIPA's scientists conduct original research studies evaluating the human and animal impacts resulting from participation in animal interaction programs.
